Heather and Kyle had a great wedding up north of the Rockford IL area. Â They happened to know a couple who had an incredible piece of property with some history to boot. Â The barn in the pics below is one of the oldest, and well kept, barns that I have ever seen. Â Too bad we showed up when it was pretty much already dark. Â I had to shoot at ISO 1000 right off the bat for the first 5 minutes. Â

After that, I went for the strobes. Â Many thanks to Heather and Kyle for standing out in the freezing cold to let me play with lights and try to get more shots than the 5 minutes of daylight. Â It was pretty much completely dark, as you can see in the pics. Â The two shots below are pretty much straight out of camera. I tried messing with these with tones and whatnot, but kept coming back to a preference for the original files.

A couple bridals of Heather before the ceremony:

During the reception, there were these beautiful couples below dancing the night away. Â It was a crowded dance floor, but there were openings here and there to catch glimpses. Â I still remember getting chills at seeing some of their expressions while dancing with their sweethearts of many many years. Â I got the lights back out, and here’s a few of the results.
